Welcome, welcome, welcome everybody to Top Line on Live at Five! And my name is Brian here with Top Line. And today, we’re going to be talking about Facebook’s changes going on over at their review system.

Now, you’ve probably seen Facebook reviews over the years .They have become a prominent resource for marketers like us and for practices like you. Because, when people share their opinions, when they talk about how great you are, are the challenges they run into. It creates this back-and-forth where you can really get great feedback from your patients .You can have a great conversation. I mean, there’s all kinds of benefits to the Facebook marketing or the Facebook reputation system. And having you know people leave your reviews, it’s always good.  And the top three that we’re always pushing of course is, Google, Facebook and Yelp.  And we’d love for you to not be one of those top three someday but, they’re still pretty important .So we do absolutely talk about that.

Now, why am I talking about Facebook and their reviews? Because, they are completely changing how they work.  And it might not have rolled out in your area yet. We’re starting to see it slowly across the country, so you’re probably going to see it they started in, in certain industries, but we’re expecting it to probably come across to your practice any day now so I want to make sure you have the information.

So what’s changing? Well, you used to be able to just write a review, give a star rating and write to review and the way you go. And then, if the business wanted to respond then, there could be a back-and-forth, so it was a nice way to go about things. Now, they were looking at doing a 10 star rating instead of a 5, and instead of making it 10 stars instead of 5. They’ve gone the absolute other direction and it is now a yes/no recommendation. Now, when somebody wants to review you, they absolutely now have to say, “Would you recommend this business? Yes or no? ” . It is now binary. It is that straight forward. It is a simple yes or no. And then, they have the opportunity to be more specific.

Based on the industry, there will be some other options, and I think that’s going to continue to change and grow as they go in this direction. Then, you’re going to start seeing that Facebook is going to really push these reviews or I should say these recommendations based on your location. If you’re on your phone and you’re looking up something near me, then you’re probably going to see your reviews pop up real high.

Okay now, let me switch screens. I’m going to show you kind of where you can go and look about some of these details and this is the Facebook business page. Here, talking about recommendations and you can go through it you can see what’s going on. But, you will see that now, they understand the value of these recommendations so, they are making it just crazy simple. So, when someone says “Yes, I would recommend you”. They are now asked for more details. They can share their experience. They can just tap on some options, so they are really trying to make this very simple for the user ,and in effect, it should end up being quite useful for the business owner for the practice. Because, you’re going to be getting great responses, great feedback.

And if there’s anything that comes from this, it’s going to be this part right here that you people are going to feel that these are authentic, that these are real, and it is making it easier for you to say “Hey! This is not real.” And they’re more likely to look at that because if somebody is, you know saying bad things. If they are out there and they are consistently not saying good things in general then, what Facebook is trying to do is they’re trying to filter that out they’re trying to make it easier so that you can say, “Hey! That’s not real”. And you’re also; probably better off doing that from a personal account than from a business account, so if you have friends and family that you can say you know, please go on there and you know used to just flag it now. You could say this is not, this is not good, this isn’t real, and you can be very clear about why.

And then finally, this part here is one that I’m excited about. And I think, you should be too.And that is that it is going to reach people as they are making decisions, so it is going to be pushing these recommendations right in front of people on their phones, making it’s more prominent than it ever has been before. And I think that is going to be the real big impact here.

Okay so, that’s what I wanted to cover today. I wanted to make sure that you knew that these changes are coming .We’re still kind of waiting to see what’s going to happen as these changes occur. Are your old reviews going to start shifting or are they going to just be there or are they going to disappear? I mean we’re waiting to see. We’ve heard some stories of people just losing their reviews so; I hope that doesn’t happen to you. We have also heard stories of everything just moving quite well , so for your sake I hope that all the reviews that you have on Facebook stayed just the way that they are, and then this new system rolls out and it’s just a benefit for you and for your patients.
