Welcome, welcome, welcome everybody to Top Line Live at Five. My name is Brian Devine here with Top Line. And today, we’re going to be talking about video marketing for your practice but not just sort of the nebulous you should do it kind of conversation, but let’s get down to exactly how you can do this and how you can do it yourself and just get started because more than anything I want you to just do something and it’s always better to get started right away.

So I’ve decided to put together just this quick video to walk you through the very simple, straightforward things that you can do to get started right now. And I mean when you’re done watching the video, go ahead and shoot a couple of videos on your own. And the first question that I get all the time is what kind of set setup I need? Do I need the lights and all these different cameras and tripods? And you know what? You really don’t need much. If you have a smartphone, an iPhone, an Android, any type of a phone that shoots basically high definition video, which today if your phone is three years old or new or you’re going to qualify, then you have what you need.

Now, the second piece of equipment that I recommend is a lavalier mic and that’s just a little mic that you kind of your clip right here, and the reason for that is sound is really important for your online marketing. Now you’ll notice that I have this, this bad boy right here because the microphone that is built into my camera that I’m using for these live streams is terrible. So I’ve worked hard and looked high and low to find a solution where I can use this microphone and not use that microphone that is on the camera. So that means that when you are shooting video on your camera that you want to use a nice microphone and I’m not talking spending thousands of dollars. I’m talking about 20, 30 bucks. Believe it or not, you can go to Amazon, or you could write the whole thing level layer and they will have these little microphones for you choose from and audio technica, those are always pretty solid. If you want something, see a little fancier. I grabbed this one and the reason I like this because it’s remote, so you can plug this into your camera and then you can walk around and move and you’re not limited to kind of the length of the core that you have on your microphone.

However, the Audio Technica of most of those that are in like the 30 to $40 range, they’ve got super long courts. So just grab something like that because really what you just need is good, solid sound. Okay, so those are the first two things really straightforward. Probably you’re not going to be spending more than 20 or 30 bucks. And so that’s your video camera on your phone and a lavalier mic. As long as you have those two things, you’re good. And when it comes to lighting, I’ve got soft boxes and all this stuff, but you really don’t need that. As long as you have good soft light in your office, in your home someplace that’s quiet, you’re ready, you’re set to go. Okay. You don’t need much more than that. I don’t want you to worry about all the different technical things because the best type of light is the light that’s just kind of coming in naturally. That’s really going to be the best.

Now, if you don’t have good light there, then just turn on lights so that it’s bright you. I’d rather it be bright then really dark. So that’s really all we’re talking about. So the next thing that you’re going to be doing is thinking about content, right? Well, okay, now I know that I can just use my camera and I’m telling you, you don’t have to even get a standard anything. Just put it on a box and set it up so that you’re at least looking parallel into the camera or a little bit up. And one of the reasons for that is you don’t want people to feel like they’re kind of looking down on them. All right, the last thing you want to do is be hovered over. I’d rather you look up a little bit or at least straight into the camera.

All right, now you need content and this is the easy part. I know everyone kind of gets bogged down in this, but let’s say you’re going to do a show. You’re going to like once a week you’re going to put something out. No, that doesn’t mean every single week you put something out, it means that you schedule it right. You can just sit down in front of your camera, pump out 10 or 12 different videos and schedule them to go out. And that way every week you’ve got something ready to go and then you do it again and again. And so once a quarter you’ve got this stuff ready to go. Now, what do you talk about this believe it or not as the easy part because you are a specialist. So talk about your specialty and if there’s something in your practice that you’re really proud of, write that down. That’s what you’re going to want to talk about.

If there’s something in your practice that you do that is unique to your market or unique to your area, talk about that. Okay, those are just some quick ideas, but here’s the way that you can make sure you’ve got lots and lots of content right down the frequently asked questions that you get almost every day. There should be at least 10 if you can’t come up with ten five because you know that just throughout your day you’re getting these questions over and over again. So if you’re the one who is answering them, guess what Not only will people be finding the videos because they’re looking for that information, but if you do it right then and I can talk to you about it, but then what you can do is voice search engine optimization because you were answering the question that is on people’s mind.

Google is going to put your answers to those questions as they answer them at the top of search results. So it’s a huge advantage for you now, once you’ve run through all of the most frequently asked questions now start thinking about what are the questions people should be asking, but they’re not. This is something we’ve been doing for a long time and there‚Äôs always that question that you’re like I know they always ask this, but they really need to be asking that, write those questions down and shoot videos around those.

How about things that you wish that would be more fun for people to ask? Things that aren’t just like vital to your practice or to their success in your practice, but just some things that, that you think it would be fun to talk about in a practice that you think would be interesting. I want to make sure that you know that this is not hard. You do not need to rack your brain and you can even just go through your frequently asked questions. You should be asking questions. I wish should people be asking questions and then sort of recycle them, meaning you change the question a little bit. You change your answer a little bit, but the key here is to just do it. Get those videos out.

Now, if you feel like you cannot be in front of a camera or you’re one of those people, when that camera turns on, you sort of go white. You get really stiff and uncomfortable and you sound terrible. Practice, practice, practice because as you do it more and more, it gets easier, but if you feel like I can’t do it, I don’t have the time, the energy, and I don’t want my face out there. Find someone in your practice who can. There should be a treatment coordinator. There should be an office manager and marketing coordinator, someone in your practice that can do this because it’s really, really valuable when it comes to just having to go find you when it comes to people choosing you over someone else. When it comes to your search engine optimization, there are all of these valuable benefits to doing videos like this and I want you to take advantage.

Alright, that’s what I wanted to cover today. I hope you found some value in it. Please feel free to share it with anybody that you think might learn something or think that it’s kind of fun and I look forward to seeing you next time on Top Line Live at Five. That’s it for me. Bye for now.
