Welcome, welcome, welcome everybody to Top Line Live at Five! My name is Brian Devine and I really appreciate you taking some time to join me today. We’re going to be talking about when ads go wrong.
Now, we’ve covered a couple of these. The steps that we go through when we are running Facebook ads. We are trying to tweak them, update them, get them to be more efficient to work better. Today, I thought you know I’d forgotten to cover probably the most important thing in the first two videos and that is sometimes, the Facebook algorithm just blows up on you. That means, that you are doing everything right. You have follow all the processes. You’ve got your targeting down, you’ve got your headline perfect, you’ve got the match between your headline on the ad and the headline on the landing page. You’ve got similar or the same images on your ads, as you do on your landing. I mean, you’ve really followed through and and done everything right but the campaign is just tanking and that could happen where everything is right. You’ve done this before and it’s just not working. Please know that that happens to all of us at some point. Gremlins do sort of exist in the world of online marketing. It can have it all of us.
Now, if you run enough Facebook campaigns, you’re going to run into this. So, stop beating your head against the wall because when you have a campaign like that, even if for some reason, you made a little mistake along the way, you’re better off just shutting it off. Make a copy of it and then start over. The reason for that is every time we’ve run into this, if we’ve tried to make adjustments and changes it doesn’t matter what we do, it just continues to fail. However, sometimes when this is happening all we do is we copy it, we turn it off we make the adjustments that we know we need to make and we turn the new one back on. We are back to the races and everything is working just the way it’s supposed to.
So, I thought let’s cover that today because this is going to be a quick one because I want to make sure that if you are looking for ways to improve your Facebook ad campaigns that, you know, that sometimes it really is just a problem with Facebook the algorithm broke on you for whatever reason, sometimes it just breaks. So, rather than trying to fix it over and over again, if you’ve tried a few things and it still seems like it is just not working, shut it off. Make a copy. Then, turn a new one back on. Even, you know, if you feel like it’s been bad enough, don’t even make a copy. Just start over.
